Why a scale?

When you use a coffee scale every cup will be consistently delicious.

Did you know that when you roast coffee to different temperatures the bean changes size due to the length of roast time?

A dark roast bean is much larger than a light roast.

This is why it’s so important to weigh your beans!

We suggest a brew ratio of 1:17 for drip.

This means 1 part coffee to 17 parts water.

For example, a 1.8 liter pot is, 60 ounces, which is (1700grams) we would use 100grams of coffee.

Hot tip- a “cup” in coffee does NOT mean 8 ounces. It means 4, 5 or 6 brewer dependant. Why? I wish I knew!!

The brewer makes a huge difference in the quality of your coffee also!

We love the Bonavita or Technavorm brands for home brewing!
